Hi I'm Kiri, the Founder of AMPERNA

Posted by Kiri Yanchenko on

Since we launched I have helped heaps of people with their skin. It's very rewarding doing what I do; I get very excited when I receive feedback emails - I love to hear about skin health journeys. If you need help with your skin;  I am always on the end of emails and messages plus I can also help you via Holistic Coaching. If you haven't watched some of my videos I recommend checking them out on Instagram. I also check all our orders before they go out and add samples and regime pages if I think anyone needs them.

The reason I started the brand is well known; I have had skin issues myself. Wesley (my AMPERNA® business partner & partner in life) and I looked after my father, who passed away early, and the stress and medication prescribed to me caused many side effects. One of which was severe pustular acne. Rather than go on more medication when I left hospital I decided to help myself holistically and focused on simple compounded skincare. My skin is extremely sensitive and I am allergic to a LOT of things.

Some things you may not know about me are:

1) I went to University and studied art, however I decided I wanted a creative career that paid ok so I went on to study graphic design at a private college. From there I started work in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) Industry in Sydney, Australia as a packaging designer.

2) I love all things Japanese - so much so that I went back to University on the weekends and studied the Japanese language for about 6 years. Until AMPERNA® got too busy and I needed to focus on our brand. We travel to Japan mostly every year... except 2020 of course.

3) I am a HUGE perfectionist which meant that formulating our launch products (with the help of a chemist) and the business plan took slightly longer than they should have. However, during the course of our nearly three years in business I have learnt to delegate. I still like things to look great, but I have learnt to accept that there are time constraints and things that you just can't control.

I really am out to help you with your skin. We're one of the only brands who has a truly holistic skin health focus. We believe in that exercise, hydration, mindfulness and a good diet all contribute to great skin. I chat to people and help them Holistically via our Holistic Skin Coaching service; something that I wanted to offer from our launch. When I had skin concerns I would have loved someone to talk to who had been through skin issues, and knew the right steps to help me. Someone I could talk to for moral support and ask questions of.

Ultimately I believe in helping you the right way, the most affordable way - so that you reach your skin goals permanently. I don't believe in using too many products, the wrong products for your skin and I will always be honest about whether topical products will help you vs medications and professional treatments. I would much rather you go away happy with our customer service and products, than upset that I gave you empty promises.
