Kiri - Founder and Director of AMPERNA®, has always been open and transparent about her health and skin journey through a stressful period in her life and the impact that had on her. From being on many prescribed medications, developing sever pustular acne, time spent recovering in hospital, to battling perioral dermatitis, Kiri knows first hand the depths and struggles of dealing with sensitive skin concerns.
Having always had very reactive skin throughout her life Kiri was hesitant to use standard topical treatments prescribed by doctors or be put on even more medication.
And thus was her lightbulb moment.
Kiri wanted to explore the possibility of helping herself holistically and her skin safely. What were her other options as opposed to the quick fix band-aid solutions that was always being presented to her?
What’s This About Probiotics?
Back in 2012 whilst Kiri was unwell, gut health and probiotics was still a very unknown topic. During Kiri’s mission to helping herself holistically she discovered the benefits of eating an anti-inflammatory diet as well as incorporating probiotic-rich foods being great for your overall gut health. Whilst focusing on her diet she was also taking an oral probiotic supplement.
She then noticed her skin condition was starting to improve. She was on to something…
Kiri then started researching and experimenting using a topical probiotic ingredient she imported and applied to her skin and her results were encouraging. This was the turning point in her skin health journey and the foundation of what AMPERNA® would eventuate to.

Kiri recently chatted to Jordan Hendey who had been using a topical steroid cream to treat his eczema for 20 years. As his skin condition worsened as he got older, he was prescribed even stronger steroid creams.
